DON'T TELL ME WHO YOUR FATHER IS,TELL ME WHO YOU ARE

It was a Saturday evening,i was walking back to my aunt's house from a shop where i went to get some fruits for my dinner. He walked up to me and asked for a minute of my time,i am not the type who shun people i'd rather listen to know whatever the person has to say so i stopped.

 He introduced himself and asked that we exchanged numbers,he also talked about how he knew my aunt and her children very well and that they were all from the same place. Because i felt it was harmless to exchange numbers and since i had no friend around, i gave him my number.

 I got into the house and thankfully i met my cousin,then i asked about this guy i met,my cousin said he was cool and i could hang out some time with him if i wished and since i was always bored and i agreed.

 Something about this guy wasn't right to me even after my cousin had cleared me on that but then he proved my intuitions right when he called me after some days saying he had been busy and bla bla and bla. He tried to convince me why i should be his friend which the reasons included how his brother is a senator of the federal republic. That particular statement  blew his chances,how could he think i would be tripped by his elder brother or father's achievement.

 I kept wondering until i realized that many a time,most young men think they can woo and get a girl by mere mention of their father's numerous achievements,'Oga some women are tripped by your own achievements not that of your family member'  These kind of men make it seem like they are nothing without these popular or rich family member of theirs. The only thing i asked this guy that made him stop pestering me was when i asked what he has been able to do for himself since he had a rich brother and surprisingly nothing..

  

 This also applies to women too..Let that your father,mother,brother,sister be a role model you look up to not a name to get your way with. I am only interested in Who you are not who your father is. If i wanted that your father or brother then that's a different case,stop spoiling ya show with ya hand..LOL

 Your father is a president,who are you? Your brother is a rich man,where is your own?
