A RACE FOR THE TITLE OR NAH

At wedding ceremonies, there is a section where the couple have to repeat after the priest to take their
solemn vows, that part gets sweet and next ''you may kiss the bride'' and all other church formalities after which pictures would be taken then you see those relations who always have to tell you ''oh how you once pooed on their clothes'' begin to say things like ''you are now a big boy/girl and i hope its your wedding we would come to next?

Which brings me to these, its almost  festive season and a lot of weddings will be taken place and also a lot of young women will be on the look out for potential husbands, some make choices of the weddings they'd attend. If its not to a politicians son or daughter or at least a well known name in the country or if the wedding would not be graced by dignitaries even if it had to be local government chairmen, they would not waste 'their precious time' to attend, everyone wants the good life na.

In a society where been single at a certain point is seen as worse than death itself, every young girl is on the race for the title of ''Mrs''. According to someone, the title gets you the respect you never have gotten so the race is so fierce.

Its a battle where they have to show case whose husband has more money or is finer, some even go to wedding to compare their imaginary husbands that they haven't gotten to the ones standing on the alter.

This is why some women just go into a marriage and mess the man' life up because their only intention was to meet up with friends and standards and not because they actually had an iota of love for the intended husband.

The race for this title has also left so many woman bitter from abuse when they had to marry the next man who showed them the ring without thinking twice if they could even survive a day together.
Its all for the race, the battle of who wins, its so fierce that some might get burnt. Just search in their hearts you would discover that it is all for the title,it is like an award of excellence and or a gold cup.it had to be conquered and those relations and friends has to see them also making their marks.

After a long search, Emeka couldn't bring himself to just accept that the good life he once had was gradually going down the drain. His wife who was once a very sweet lady didn't make things rosy, she nagged and wanted to shout down their roof at every given opportunity and had threatened to leave if he stops doing the needful. It was as if everything in his life had crashed, every man struggled to keep their own family and he couldn't disturb them with his own problems, his which was even a small family could not be kept together simply because his wife wanted to have it all and couldn't be patient with him or even remember the good days when everything was all sunshine and good.

She was never happy about anything especially once he was in the house, these was a woman who always wanted him around when he was sent on official assignments to other towns. Was that all pretense, Emeka always thought which confusion on how to keep up and meet her unending demands .

Emeka pleaded with Nnenna to exercise a little patient with him as his new business was still growing and they had just paid rent for their new place and several other responsibilities he had to tend to but Nnenna having to lead an extravagant life style, coupled with the fact that she didn't want to look for a job or do any business. FOR BETTER TOGETHER(FICTION)

This is a work of fiction originally written by me,every name, character or place used here are product of my imagination, any resemblance of these work is coincidental.

In his usual manner,Emeka hummed Phil Collins' 'paradise' while as he showered as was his regular thing. few minutes later he was out and already set for work,he had his breakfast, kissed Nnenna goodbye and drove off to work.
This has been his routine every morning for the past five years,he was thankful to have met a woman as good as Nnenna.   Before he woke up every morning, his wife had already prepared and packed his lunch for him and by the time he came out to the dinning, breakfast was ready. Every meal with nnenna was a sure feast from omlettes and plantains to egg sauce and yam in egg barter for breakfast and a host of both Continental and African dishes that Emeka could not get enough of.

Nnenna would be described as a perfect chef, she was just too much in culinary activities which Emeka's friends presumed that was the reason he had married her under three months of their meeting not minding the fact that Nnenna is a very beautiful dark woman who is in her late 20's. She is what most men would describe as the way African women should be,she was created on the best days because you could see her beauty even from afar with her very curvy figure especially with a back side that tempt men to woo her even with their idea of her marital status. She was almost the complete woman with a good man as a husband.

As Emeka arrived the office, there was coldness in the voice of everyone he greeted,he just waved it and felt maybe the harmattan had gotten a better toll on them, then he went straight to his office dropped his briefcase and headed to greet his boss who seemed so dazed over something Emeka could not place a finger on. 'Good morning sir' he greeted more like talking to himself because his boss was far away in thoughts,he had to come close and greet like three times more before his boss shuddered back in a manner that suggested he was running wild with thoughts.  The boss turned to him and  ''Mr Emeka Ezeani,am so sorry your services here will not be needed anymore as the company can no longer afford your high prices, you are one of the best around that is why am so confused as to who to hire when you are gone. the MD has refused to see reasons with me and has asked that you tender your resignation letter by month end''..    Emeka couldn't believe his ears,a company he had worked with since he left school,he worked for one year  and married before he met his heartrob,Nnenna.

When he got home that day he couldn't bring himself to believe that in two weeks, he would be out of job, how is he going to cope since he is the one taking care of his parents and seeing his siblings through school.     What about Nnenna,he was so confused, the house and the car belonged to the company. He then decide to keep it to himself till he found a solution even if its a trade that he would start with his little saving while in the course of his job hunts, from that moment he began to submit applications for different kinds of job even the ones he was over qualified for.
Since the company had given him three months grace to vacate the staff quarters and return the car,he would have found an alternative by then and this would certainly not be one his night mares he assured himself..

           Full story coming soon........................

THE OLDER,THE BIGGER THE APETITE MIGHT GET

Four years ago what you would have settled for was like the best thing that ever happened, you might have figured out in your head that it was one of your best times and you wished for it never to came to an end. The kind of love, laughter and everything meant the world to you at that very moment.

Fast foward to the next four years and i bet some people will puke if given that same thing or person who served as their joy for free. Divorce is on the rise today and most of the cases are as a result of irreconcilable differences which may have occurred when partners become and live like strangers, that bonding that drove them head over heels with each other had gone sour and their hearts no longer desire each other.

Alot of people who are in a hurry to get married especially because all their friends are married tend to fall in the category of people who woke up after some years of marriage and regret why they had ended up with that person or how they would have probably be laid with another kind of person, this is when you hear people go like 'why did i end up with you'  'i am supposed to be married to someone on a different level not you'  'i regret this marriage or relationship'. And out of their bitter hearts words spur out.

Because as we mature our tastes becomes different, for example;if you were used to having  high carb or fatty foods for breakfast while you were younger, you might just wake up one day and realize your sugar level has gone way up then your sweet breakfast turns into a healthy meal of maybe unripe plantain and vegetables or something even more better.   Another example; you might have been used to been in a relationship with certain kind of people maybe it was limited to a particular profession or a particular place or even a certain age bracket then suddenly your taste changed maybe got higher or you just yearn for something new and different at that point. That is when it feels like you have not been living life all the while and you might end up hurting whom you are with in your quest to find fulfilment.

Maybe some years back, you were satisfied been a first degree holder with a very good job but at a time you begin to desire more.   Humans are naturally this way,our appetite keeps growing, its just insatiable though alot of people do not realize its their desires that has changed they might blame it on others for their change while its a natural thing.   Many may recognise this change in desires and wants and act fast while other would never discover what it is the really want and the remain unhappy all through.

Before you jump into anything at all especially relationships, new friendships, marriage and maybe in your education, career part and even the kind of business you choose to do, be very sure its what would give you satisfaction on the long run,do not be hasty or in a hurry for anything. Be sure you can wake up every morning refreshed and happy not been miserable even there is no reason to be aside the fact that your interests diverted.   This is why most people even with good paying jobs that other people may envy are never happy because their desires are now bigger than the satisfaction their current job gives them.

If its something deep down your heart you know you would always desire then don't hesitate to go for it but in your double thoughts, don't be in a hurry because most bigger appetite works more the older we get!

WAJE AND DAUGHTER AT TINSEL CHARITY BALL

The award winning singer stepped out with daughter,Emerald in black and white at the Tinsel charity ball flaunting her new body.. Aren't they cute?

BE TACTFUL

Tactful is an adjective which means having or showing what is fitting and considerate in dealing with others.
It is also the ability to say something as the above picture stated without hurting another's feelings.. A lot of us are blunt but still can address issues tactfully.
You don't need to tell someone their food tastes bad or something that would demoralize them instead you talk about the good part then find a way to talk about the bad experiences.
Criticisms most times should be done in love so the other person doesn't get offended..

May we learn a tactful approach in dealing with people this month and the rest of the year!
Happy new month Fam and Independence Nigeria!

TALES OF THE AFRICAN CHILD SERIES 3 :CHILD MARRIAGE

Child marriage is a union between a grown man especially far older and an under aged girl;girls below the age of 18. Some of these girls go into those marriage from the age of 9 or 10 years once she stays having her monthly flow.

This early marriage poses a big threat to the human rights of the child involved,it denies them opportunity to grow and empower themselves. Their health is also at risk considering what might befall them in event of childbirth or even when the husband might force his way into her if she refuses to give in to his advances.
Girls from poor homes are likely to be married off early than girls from a wealthy household.he

At an age where a child should be basking in innocent games and gaining education, young girls are married off before they are mentally, physically and psychologically prepared for the responsibilities that a marriage brings. At times they are married to, and even sold off to men who are a lot older than these young girls. The young girls are neither capable of handling themselves nor the burden of marital responsibilities. Young girls are forced for merely to serve their husbands and in-laws and do not have a right to make any decisions or to have a normal social life.

The consequences of child marriage are just too numerous, from how it affects the girl psychologically, mentally and physically.

Their education suffers, they are also prone to high domestic abuse, rape, higher risk of contracting STI's.
The risk of death is involved during child birth, the child mortality rate is high becausethe are still young.

VVF - Vesico Vaginal Fistulae : This is an abnormal fistolous tract extending between the bladder(vesico) and the vagina that allows the continuous involuntary discharge of urine into the vaginal vault, it usually occurs after child birth in some women; It can also be said to be a hole that develops between the vagina and the bladder.
12,000 women develop VVF in Nigeria alone every year, many girls between the ages of 11 to 15bbecome mothers in Nigeria after an early marriage to an older man. Various research have attributed early marriage to one of the causes of VVF and it is usually high in areas where early marriage is practised.

80% VVF cases are due to unrelieved labor during child birth (frequently in women under 18), their pelvis are not yet developed to go through the rigorous process of carrying a child, the stand greater chances of prolonged labor at that age(usually below 18 and worst below 16); This is also one of the causes of the high maternal mortality rates in some areas.

Allow the girl child more time to grow and mature, she deserves to have a right to decide on her reproductive and sexual life and also learn about child birth and motherhood
