DOES IT MATTER IF OUR CHILDREN LEARN OUR LOCAL LANGUAGES?
Hello Fam,the only sugar in my garri..lol i know its unlike me to have missed a day without a post coming your way but yours truly have been so busy and i know you all understand..
So today became one hell of a busy day but i didn't fail to notice something that i am going to share with you. I was at a shop where i wanted to get something, the owner of the shop is Yoruba then i was so surprised when her children who were born and breed in the eastern part of the country came in and greeted i and my cousin, kneeling you know how the Yoruba's gestate when the greet. I finally got the shock of my life when these adorable children, the elder one to be precise started asking their mum something in their language then i was forced to ask the woman if they just moved to the east recently..
She replied that it is the way she is bringing her children up that is why the can speak and hear the Yoruba language, when i mean speak they are very fluent and the also know a little bit of Igbo language,am sure the will also be sound if the stay a little longer meaning the would know and speak two Nigerian language, how wonderful it would be that they can communicate with their parents in their own language and still be able to communicate with people from the east without problems. Then i also remembered that i once met a lady who was born and brought up in the UK, her Yoruba is very sound just like her British english..LOL
I have also met people who were born and breed in the east whose parents are of same tribe but can not speak their language, some do not even understand when spoken to.
That brings me to my thought; so if i want to communicate with my children in the presence of some one who does not understand the language we use at home and i don't want them to understand,i may not because i decided that i want them to learn English and forgot that learning one Nigerian language even if its not my tribe's own is of importance.
When i did my National Youth Service,i could not communicate very well with some of the villagers because language was a barrier, then i thought if i had learnt another language aside Igbo language which is my local language or the schools i attended had offered it maybe i wouldn't have had so much problem.
Some children are even forced to learn this English language which no doubt is important yet some are not so sound and yet the can't speak their own local language,it is really funny tho when you hear some of their grammar. It can literally make some one develop running stomach..
I feel as long as both parents are of the same tribe, they should try and teach their children their local language, speak to them even if the do not learn how to speak well atleast let them understand it so that one day some one will not come and sell them with their own father tongue..lol
Parents can also enroll their children for extra moral lessons on Nigerian languages, you will see the joy the children will derive in learning. Try this and believe me its not a waste at the same time make sure their English is very sound, its our Lingua Franca.

'THE BIG BOY'
He drives his father's car, lives in his father's house, throws around the man's money.. When he meets a new woman,he tells her who 'his father' is. Is it your father that you are wooing the babe for? What are your own achievements or you don't have any other thing in your name except your university degree which you managed to obtain because you were more interested in partying and throwing your father's money around and been called 'a big boy'. You even brag about who your father is and how much he is worth, What are you worth? Ladies when you meet this type of 'big boy' please run for your life because this kind of man is not willing to achieve anything,he hopes on inheritance and a real woman can not waste time with that type of man.
Another type of 'big boy' is the type who depends on his woman to survive, he drives her car and lives with her or most times shares a house with his friends but nothing de him pocket, these type are usually handsome but do not even want to look for work even with their good results, the would depend on every woman who the come across especially rich unsuspecting women. They would claim the are business men and need money to boost the business and the unsuspecting woman whom they would convince on how rich the used to be before the collapse would assume them a big boy since that is what they have paraded to be, make no mistake about this kind because that 'his business' will continue to need financial boosting and will never bring profit..Some of them can not afford even recharge card but the are addressed as 'big boys' The have funny nicknames that 'the boss' or that have bossy acronmy's in them when shi shi no de for their pocket, some bank balance be like jamb score sef,LOL

KHLOE KARDASHIAN AND LAMAR ODOM'S DIVORCE SET TO BE FINALIZED

RELIGION vs MARRIAGE: WHAT IS YOUR TAKE ON THIS
I am not exempted from this at all,we make so many decisions and statements like why we can not marry or be with some one who is not of the same religion with us. The worst is the ones that are of the same religion especially the christians who would never marry from any other church but theirs. i have a friend who falls into this category, she never makes friends with any other person aside her church members reason is so you wont push her against her faith infact our friendship is solely a miracle to have survived thus far.
When we became friends, she met this very nice man who was not of the same church, she decided to break her boundaries and accept the man but the issue were her parents. The never accepted the young man when he came to meet them and to declare his intentions of marrying their daughter, she has been pleading with her father who his only reason for rejecting the man is because as a pastor his only daughter must marry from their church if possible a fellow pastor.
Dear blog readers i need your opinion on this. Should religion be the highest criteria when choosing a marriage partner, should it be placed above love and understanding.. your comments would be appreciated

THE THING ABOUT DESPERATION
When women complain about how badly the have been treated by most men the dated you begin to wonder why a beautiful woman has to suffer such ordeal. I began to imagine when i heard a story about a lady who was supporting this man all through, right from their university days she payed their fees because the young man was from a very poor home while she the lady was born wealthy. After their university education the served in different states but kept in touch, according to the story the man thought he was just friends with this lady and nothing else not knowing the lady admired and wished the could date that was why she voluntered to pay his fees when it was difficult for him.
After their service year the lost contact for a while and then met again by the both have been in relationships and out,the lady in question desperately wanted to be married before the end of that year while the man was not ready because he did not have any stable job. this woman started carrying responsibility for this guy even after he told her that he was not sure about marrying her. You know that's the mistake most of we ladies makes,we think by providing the man with everything that makes him automatically our husband. The woman closed her ears to all warnings from friends even from the man's indirect speeches, got him a house, furnished it,got a job and a car for him and after some time moved in with him.
Then her wahala now started when she decided to take in for the man since he has been postponing the date to go and see her parents,in her thoughts this pregnancy will make the man have a change of heart towards the marriage. The pregnancy made matters worse, the man totally changed he started keeping late nights and friends she did not know anything about,he comes home at will sometimes after one week and unknown to the woman her supposed husband abi boyfriend has a very serious relationship outside and was already planning to marry the other lady. She cries herself to bed hoping he would have a change of heart towards her,she could not even go out with her friends again because of the shame of the pregnancy, she did not know that the worse news would soon be heard.
She was almost in her last trimester of the pregnancy when some group of people came to meet her at home giving her a one month notice to vacate the house because her man has sold it,she was shocked and tried reaching him but it kept saying switched off,he had not returned home since Friday and today is Sunday yet no one has seen or heard about his whereabouts. She was contemplating to go and report for a missing person in the police when her friend came into the house and told her how the man had married another lady and has left the country with her and their three year old son.
She was dazed at the reality starring her,so he already had a child and still lived with her? How did he do it,how was he able to cover such a thing up all these years? she had nothing else her car and house has been sold. she has not been going to work because of her condition and did not know how to face her parents.
The thing about desperation is that it blinds the victim, once their heart is programmed on a certain thing the fall deaf ears to any advice. the story above was just one out of the many thing desperation can do. Ladies and gentlemen please always look before you leap.

YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL
Do you sometimes walk or drive along the way and see people whom you feel are better than you,you see them in happy relationships and you feel like your own world is worse. No, you are beautiful and you deserve the best, never settle for less or feel intimidated. your own time is coming and it shall be great if only you keep working towards your dreams though there might be set backs and challenges just be steadfast and always remember YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL.
Alot of people do not have half of what you have, alot can not even afford that internet or phone to read this post but you have them and many more, some are paralyzed while some in the prison yard suffering but yet you have hands and legs and you also have your freedom. Some cant find food to eat and some dont even have a job to survive from but you have this maybe in little quantity and you still complain. some are orphans yet you who have parents still complain,No one has it all even the 'rich also cry'. Do not look down on yourself, you have potentials, discover them and never compare yourself or level of success to other people's own. Your destinies are not and will never be the same.
You might not have all that you desire now but am sure soon everything will work for you and would fall into place. Anytime you are tempted to think low of yourself again push the thought aside and remember You are too beautiful/handsome to die now, the world needs your potential, you are here to fulfill a purpose always remember that. Dont allow your negative thoughts make you develop problems that could have been avoided. keep it resounding in your head and if possible recite it 'i am beautiful'
YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL!

BUNMI'S SPINSTER TALES
Its another saturday, alot of weddings here and there.
Bunmi looked through her closet for something to wear,it was her younger cousins wedding as such everyone was preparing. Bunmi had wanted to skip the wedding but for her mother who insisted that it wasnt ok if she didnt attend simi's wedding.
As expected all their relatives were present, after greetings were exchanged then it was as if her aunty's remembered her; Aunty Rose was the first to ask 'so bunmi when are you inviting us,all your cousins who are on same age range with you are all married o' then came Aunty Bimpe ;you should have come with your man so we can meet him'. Bunmi listened as the kept on talking then she explained that she and the man in her life were not planning marriage yet,you needed to hear how the chorused 'why' lol.
All this relatives and their wahala,as bunmi thought about it then Aunty Bimpe whom the call Mummy B told her that next saturday they would attend a wedding together where she was planning to introduce her to her friend's son and bunmi had better accept unless she would be dragged to see her prophet and she had till friday to decide whether to be introduced to the friend's son or go to the prophet.her aunty believes that at 27 a woman must be married, bunmi kept thinking of what she ever did to these people.. LOL

THE MUMMY'S BOY/GIRL
Often you hear 'his or she is a mummy's boy or girl then you wonder if the mean that the person still lives with his parents.
No,the mummy's boy or girl is the one who cant do anything without been concerned about what mummy thinks is applicable, despite the age the mummy's boy and girl cant do anything on his own. These set of people do not have a mind of their own therefore the cant make decisions in any aspect of their life including marriage infact mummy has to scrutinize and find fault in every intended husband or wife. mummy will choose the husband or wife for her boy/girl because the do not even know what the want.
when you marry a mummy's girl/boy,be prepared to endure because mummy would not rest o she will also run the affairs of your home, i pray you dont lose it while enduring coz e no easy to deal with those people..lol
The only time a mummy's girl or boy grows up is eventually when tragedy comes and mummy is no longer around.
